Google Chrome has been availabe for about a half hour and you can get it here.

Can Google, the #1 search-engine used on the internet become the #1 most used browser?  Google, in response to Microsoft’s Internet Explorer with integrated Live search, is working on a dramatically better web browser using modern object-oriented programming models-it isolates tabs as separate processes, sandboxes the HTML rendering engine, and in the future, will sandbox plugins (like Adobe Flash Player, for example).  This means that when a script on a page is hung-up (taking too long and crashes older browsers) will only crash that tab, protecting your other pages from crashing.  The fact that Chrome will utilize sand-boxing to protect your computer means that it is significantly more difficult for a malicious site or hacker to get into your system through browser exploits.  Google is also premiering their V8 javascript engine in this browser, allowing for greater performance and reliability while using web apps like GMail, Google Maps, Facebook, and similar sites.

All of the technologies in Chrome are open-source, and the beta will be available later today.

You can read Google’s blog post about Chrome here, you can see an updated news feed for Chrome here, and C|Net has a news clip here, and Google has created a comic-book style explanation of the technologies in this browser here.
