I found this great Wordpress plugin, Simply Exclude, it gives the administrator of a Wordpress blog/site the ability to decide what is visible where.  Meaning that I can, in my case, hide my Twitter updates from the front page and from the RSS feeds, but still search and archive them.  You can get this plugin from Codehooligans.com .
