Chrome: For Mac [Updated]
Sep 21st
Today CodeWeavers (makers of the popular “CrossOver Mac” which allows you to run Windows apps on Mac without Windows) released a free CrossOver for Chrom(e/ium)… it is technically “chromium, the open-sourced project for Chrome, but it’s still the same app, I haven’t yet tested it, but this should do for mac users who want to give it a try, see it in a great blog post here, you can download it here, and please comment about what you’re experience is. It’s also to note that Google will soon release a version of Chrome for mac which will be optimized for both the Mac OS, the Mac OS X graphics interface, and the Mac Hardware. But give it a try.
[UPDATE Sept 21 10:30 AM] – After many tests, I can determine that this version is very (very, very, very, very) slow. This version isn’t exactly the fastest anyone will ever see Chrome… This should a considdered a conceptual preview-if you want to see it at the best you should test it in a Windows virtual machine, either using VirtualBox, Parallels, VMWare, or on a real Windows PC.

Chrome: The “Invisible Tab”
Sep 20th
For those of you who have used Google’s (relatively) new browser, you may have experienced (what I’m calling) the “invisible tab”. It looks like this, and will move around like it was really a tab:
Well if you use the Task Mananger (, seen above) to manage your Google Chrome tabs (and processies) you can click the “stats for nerds” and it will take you to about:memory (which is seen below) , a page similar to about:config in Firefox or about:tabs in IE 7, and about:blank in most all modern browsers. These are pages made local on the system to display relavent information, or in some cases to provide a local cached page which will load quicker than any page available. Anyway, the about:memory page allows you to see the stats for memory usage for what components of Chrome. I noticed that there’s another tab, one which I don’t have open called “Tab 99 (Diagnostics)” This discovery has prompted me to share a possibly great discovery into the inners of Chrome (and this annoying glitch which can only be solved by restarting the browser).

Comic: Adam@Home-Comic On Computer
Sep 12th
This comic sums up everything about computers-but can be applied to anyone who has, or choses to work with a computer. People don’t seem to get it yet that computers aren’t perfect. I know that geeks and nerds can get their computers to work all of the time, but they aren’t ready for wide adoption, do I sound like I’m living in the ’90′s?

Google Chrome-Acid3 Test
Sep 2nd
The Acid3 test (here) tests a browsers Javascript rendering ability in terms of being standards-compliant, for a reference Webkit scores 100, Opera scores 83, Firefox 3 scores 71, IE 7 scores 12, but you just get a mess (seen here), and Google Chrome (which uses the Webkit rendering engine (don’t confuse this with the browser “WebKit“, read more about webkit here) and a new javascript engine called V8-which boasts speed to kill, produces a 73 on the Acid3 test. Not bad considdering it’s the fastest to complete the test, but clearly Opera and WebKit (the browser).
@UPDATE- 9:35P
after doing some Google searching I’ve discovred that Google Chrome has scored from 61/100 to 78, this test is supposed to be repeatable, however it seems there’s some user-biased module to Chrome. My finding was that Chrome scored 73. That’s all I can say for sure.
Google Chrome-What Browser Am I Using?
Sep 2nd
A common trick web developers use is to determine which browser you are using to assure that an incompatible browser doesn’t have a bad experience on a site, or to change the formatting to suit the browser (really common for Internet Explorer 6)… anyway I’m using the recently released Google Chrome (to download it: google “Google Chrome Download”, or go to www.google.com/chrome) and I tested Chrome against one of these scripts (the site I used is located here) and found that the script showed Chrome as Safari 525.13 on Windows. Triple Head 2 Go Review – by Macworld
Sep 2nd
This video demonstrates how to use a computer (mac or PC) with up to 3 displays via VGA or DVI. The computer only requires one monitor out via VGA or DVI (depending on which model you choose). How this works is that all of the monitors havve to have the same resolution across the moitors (say 1440×768)… to the computer it appears that it’s one monitor at 4320×768. This device isn’t for high-performance gaming but is great for spreadsheets, office, web, etc.. just don’t try gaming with it.
