Mac App: 1Password

Last year I bought the MacHeist bundle, mainly for Pixelmator, but in that package I also got a utility I would have else never looked at: 1Password.  1Password is the best password manager I’ve ever used!  From the basics, 1Passwords provides a great interface to the keychain, but the most useful feature is the browser plug-in.  On the Mac you get a “1P” button in your browser, when you click this a menu pops down and you can select the identity, which credit card to fill in, and best of all, a great random password generator.  This is more than definitely worth a try—and best of all, your passwords and identity information can be synced to your iPod and iPhone (via an app in the app store, free).  Get 1Password at agilewebsolutions.com for $39.95 USD.1password

Mac App: iStopMotion

This is a classic example of a great Mac app.  The people from Boinx have vastly simplified the process of making Stop Motion videos.  With features that allow you to align the frame before taking it, allowing you to add onion-skinning, chroma-keying, and foregrounds.  Get iStopMotion 2 for $49.95 from the Apple Store Online.

Best Domain Message Ever!

If you don’t know, after you purchase a domain and before a site is in place there is a “parker” page which usually notifies visitors that the domain is not available and a site should be up soon–and shows ads for the registrar.  Leo Laporte (accidentally) let his twitlive.tv domain expire and after re-purchasing it, shows this message.

Oops. There may be an issue with the URL Forwarding service for this
domain, in which case our technical staff is currently working the situation. Otherwise,
this domain is currently under construction and will be back online soon.

This has to be the best message ever! I love the “otherwise” statement.
