As I’m sure I’ve mentioned, I’ve gotten my office back-and so have space to have additional monitors (currently, however I only have one setup) and have been aching to find a great way to utilize it the way I’m used to utilizing my TV… for news updates.  So I’ve searched for a way to display RSS feed items in a way that gets through them-and better yet, looks good too.  Snackr is a great Adobe Air app which accomplishes everything I’ve wanted and more–it looks better than I hoped (especially for a Windows app, of course all Adobe Air apps work on Mac, Windows, and Linux).  It can import an OPML file to get your feeds-an OPML file is essentially an XML file which contains a list of RSS feed adresses-and is exported from another RSS reader (I always use Google Reader for my reading-so I used the Reader export function to do this, rather than re-typing them into Snackr.)  So far, the biggest missing feature is full-screen ticking… so I can put it in a “screen saver” like mode where it just takes the whole screen and devotes it to my feed items.  Give it a try-Mac, Windows, and Linux–you only need the Adobe Air framework installed.

From Snackr.net you can download it, Adobe Air-and I encourage you to recommend this to fellow geeks.
