Vantage or Touch Dual
Oct 6th
I’m in the search for a cell phone for the Bell-Aliant Network–and I’ve narrowed my decision down to the LG Vantage and the HTC Touch Dual. In this decision I’ve considdered overall fuctionality, web-browsing capabilities, interface, and text-messaging abilities. So, the LG Rumor would be great–if it were 3G, had a higher resolution camera and screen… but the keyboard would be great. I don’t need to run external apps (except possible J2ME (Java) applications).
If anyone has experience with these cell phones, please comment on this post or contact me.
Note: I would LOVE the iPhone (although by Rogers… enough said) but the cost (minimum $50/mo) but when more (cheaper plan$) affodable plans become available it would be top-of-my-list.

I received a great comment from Branden regarding my post “Vantage or Touch Dual” giving advice for me to visit (what I’ve found to be) a great site for cell phone reviews, www.cellphones.ca.
The link given is to a comparison between the three phones I’ve considered; the LG Rumor, The LG Vantage, and the HTC Touch Dual. I personally have found this to be the most helpful comparison between these three phones I’ve yet to find. And the biggest realization of this comparison is that this clearly expresses that the Rumor is a great phone, yet doesn’t compete in terms of smart-phone-like features, that the HTC Touch offers the most (including Java Application support) with support for both CDMA (Bell/Aliant) and GSM (Rogers/Fido), but has a poorer quality screen than either the of the LG’s (in terms of displayable colors)–and in terms of resolution when compared to the Vantage.
I’d like to than the great people at cellphones.ca for their work–and for the help in my decision. I would encourage all readers to check out over there…. and to the most interesting comparisons are between the carriers (I find it interesting that most people rated Rogers higher than Bell??? I haven’t been with either, so I can’t speak).
