Review: LG KEYBO
Jan 24th
This Week: January 12
Jan 11th
This week I have many projects which will be finished and released here.
- The first of these is my review of the TELUS LG KEYBO aka LG enV2 phone (in video): I wanted to get to know this phone.
- I also am working on a page to view the TWiT Army and eventually TWiT.im river stream and TWiT Live video stream on one page.
- Finally, my long-term test of the (first-generation) iPod Touch.. 8 months in.
Happy new year as I welcome you all to come back to blogging for the long winter ahead.
Rogers vs Bell vs Telus
Nov 23rd
An interesting note came across my scope today, I noticed that Bell, the largest CDMA cell phone provider has a new smartphone data/audio package. The new plans give subscribers 350 anytime minutes, unlimited nights and weekends (9p to 7a) local calling, national unlimited talk and text to five numbers, and 500mb of data… and the most important detail, $35/. This is available for all smart-phones (Blackberry or Windows Mobile). My opinion of this is that I should hold off on my LG Keybo purchase in hopes that Rogers (the Canadian iPhone carrier) will come out with a comparable pack. As it stands, I’m willing to spend $35+fees/mo, but the current $60+fees/mo. Any question of the iPhone’s predicted success in Canada seems grim, and if Rogers offered anything less than $60 (even equal to Bell’s new plans) sales may be acceptable, giving us the iPhones we want, and giving Ted Rogers the profits he wants.
The Phone I’m Getting: LG KEYBO (aka LG enV2)
Oct 29th
I’m sure you’ve seen my posts about my previous posts about my decision between the LG Rumor and Vantage. I was very sure that I wanted the Rumor-it’s slim, has a great QWERTY keyboard–but lacked 3G data and was severely lacking in screen size. So after much looking and reading I’ve decided that the LG KEYBO (enV2 in US). The phone has a big keyboard, a large screen, 3G data, and seems much more robust and durable than the Rumor.
[UPDATE] It seems that Bell offers the Rumor, Telus offers the KEYBO-and cannot be unlocked to the opposite network. Generally both companies offer roughly the same packages and reception-the only reason to go one way or the other is the phones (in most areas).[UPDATE]
I’ve searched the internet for reviews, coverage, anything! But it only seems to be trickling in to the mainstream in the last two weeks. (The phone is new-August 2008) And so, I’ve thought I should post a collection of links to possible KEYBO buyers.
